hey,
I am a student of 4th year and have intentions to go for steps exam after my final year, but i have a great conflict in my mind whether i should do my house job or go for steps preps because as for as clinical side is concered am much weak in that so want to do my house job but whether it ll give me benefit or ll be a waste of time;
on the other hand, my fiance is in USA and i want to get through the steps as early as possible but afraid whether missing a house job ll give me -ve scores for steps exam and if skip my housejob,ll it be a problem for me to come back to my homeland pakistan to continue in their setup without a housejob.
please resolve my conflicts:confused::confused:

If you ultimately going to be here in USA then the your rotation is considered a waste of time simply because it is not recognized.
Don't worry about your clinical skills because you will learn them when you do your residency in US.
I suggest that you work your way to here as soon as you can

yes its true that house job done from Pakistan have no value in usa but other face of picture is housejob in govt hospital of Pakistan will inc ur confidence in clinical practice and in usmle exam. and the pt u will encounter in ur H/J period u will not forget in ur life.
I strongly recommend u to initiate ur steps study with ur H/J
Good Luck
