I'm doing UW system/subject-wise now. Read the review books once over the last 6-7 months. Now I'm reviewing them + FA system-wise just before solving UWorld blocks - eg. Renal physio+patho+pharmac. Getting pretty good scores based on that short term recall. I hope I can retain all that info as time passes?!
I'm aiming to do UW twice, so I highlight the important stuff in the explanations. I end up highlighting a lot though. How useful is it (the highlighting or typing in notes in UW itself) during the second read?
Also, I think it won't be possible to keep reviewing UW explanations forever - like 15 days or so before the exam. So should I compile the new/tough/useful points/concepts/tables in a different notebook OR should I jot them down/sticky-note them in FA OR in the subject review books?? That takes time but should be useful during later reviews of the books or I could save that time and finish off UWorld early to do another review of the marked explanations directly off the laptop.
True, there's no right or wrong way to do it. Each one studies his/her own way, but what worked for you guys? Might be worth trying.
