Smile My journey has just begun

Hi people,

My name is chaitanya,
I am from India, and its only been 2 days that I've written my final yr MBBS exams.

First, I should say, I found this website a great forum, and have decided to be with you guys till the very end.

I plan to take the Step 1 this September, and I am going to start preparation now, with these..

First Aid 2010 + UsmleWorld
Kaplan Videos + Kaplan Lecture Notes + Kaplan Qbank.

Do we need to get the latest Kaplan 2010 editions or 2007 edition is even good enough ? I can get 2007 ones from a friend of mine.. but it seems I have to pay Rs.50,000 for 2010 videos.

Is it worth it, to buy the latest edition videos and notes?

Also I have books for references such as:
Do I need to buy High Yield Immunology or would Kaplan Notes just suffice ?

Thanks , your opinions about my preparation strategy are highly welcome.

Grats to people who have cleared their 'steps' to success and cheers to who have started the journey.

Question I did not understand your plan?

Yea, I agree with you this forum seems to be better than usmleforum.com and prep4usmle.com
Regarding your plan;
What are you going to read? You said first that you'll do FA, Kaplan, Qbank, and UW but then you mentioned several other references!
Are you going to annotate FA or kaplan notes? What you'll do with these references you mentioned!

Default Opinion about your study plan

It's probably better you either stick to your Kaplan notes or to other mentioned references
This is discussed by StepTaker here
USMLE Step 1 Preparation Books and Plan

As for which version of Kaplan notes is needed, this is also discussed here
Kaplan Lecture Notes 2010

What I meant by reference, that i am going to use Kaplan notes mainly, and when I want to clear some concepts that i couldn't understand after reading Kaplan notes, or to strengthen myself in topics that seem to be difficult for me,
I'd study such topics from the mentioned books and references.
