Default Q.Benzodiazepines

In FA 2014,p.493,under Neuro pharma, it's mentioned that Benzodiazepines decrease REM sleep but again it's mentioned that it is used for sleep terror and nightwalking. Since sleep terror and night walking occurs in Non-REM sleep, isn't this the contrasting statements in FA???If it was mentioned,Benzodiazepines decreases non-REm sleep and thus can be used for sleep terror and night walking, it would be more logical and meaningful, i think.
If what is mentioned in FA is correct, can anybody explain me how ???Thanks.

You can refer for these contrasting information mentioned in FA in the following pages---pg. 451 vs.Pg.493 vs.pg. 512 (FA 2014 ed.)
