Unhappy Changing the answer to the wrong one

I've notice something that has been happening during this exam preparation:

While doing UW Qbank, most of the times I get the correct answer... but then, I think of something else and then I get it wrong... This is giving me a really hard time, because... I think I'm having problems analyzing the questions. At first moment, I get the correct one... I really do (most of the time it is like that)... then I change it... now I am feeling really bad... I have no words to describe de pain that is feeling my aching heart... This is happening while doing UW Qbank pharmacology questions (Did not happened before, or not in the way it is happening right now)... I know it will get better (I hope so), it's just that "now" this is kicking my ego in a way it did not happened before.

To be honest, I am a bit afraid... I am scare the this is going to happen during the real exam... makes me freak out and then... I get angry at myself...

So sad...

Default Thats the point of the exam!

Hi!
I get your feeling...the point is, you need to get use to read the question, and before seeing the options think of the answer...
The rest of the options are put there just to make you doubt or get the wrong answer in the case you are trying to guess the answer. But if you already know the answer...as soon as you see it CLICK AND GO!

Practice the questions...just to link concepts in your head. Clinical Vignettes are made for that...so use them. Like african american with respiratory issues think Sarcoidosis. If no race is given or white american with respiratory problems and they give you the place were they work think Pneumoconiosis.
Or a person who recently travel, specific area of the US, think Histo or Coccidio. Buzzwords help a lot.

But as I say ...first think the answer and then look for it...if is there CLICK AND GO. Also Goljan says that if is a long stem question...look at the question first...and then read the whole vignette...that way you have an idea what they are asking and don't get tired on details.

Let me know...maybe we can practice online how to solve questions...it would help me too.

Hope it helps!

So, UW is not the best for step2 prep? Is Kaplan better than UW?

Thanks you... I really appreciate your advice... It would be nice to practice online how to solve the questions. Maybe we can give it a try... What do you think?

hi,

there are two things while solving uw/kaplan bank
1) these books are meant to supplement/enhance ur knowledge, not to asses ur prep.
so if u did sumthing wrong just try to remember the correct answer and the reason why it is correct...this will help a lot during final test.

2) make sure that u take out time to revise all these wrong questions before test.

yes, buzz words help a lot .. for me first aid was lifesaver.

hope it ll help you... and dont worry u are still preparing, u ve not taken test yet so just work harder and everything ll b f9.
good luck.

I feel your pain. I do the same mistake. I think the best option is the first choice. Just try to think of the answer before you look at the choices that way you kinda know the answer and won't get confused when you look down at the answers. Don't change ur answers until you are sure that the first answer you selected is wrong.
