Help HY neuroanatomy...

Highly recommended.... Also, it includes a 50 review questions (Really high yield). Is not really expensive and have really good pics.... I say: go for it!!!

hey miss patho, if I master kaplan notes neuroanatomy, will that be sufficient, since I am not feeling comfortable by overwhelming myself with other additional books

the problem here is every one saying something

the 99er i know said understand the concept from kaplan then 1st aid with uw is enough

when i read threads here i found out hy neuro is better
then i buy it it was long since my week area in step 2 was neuro so i nedd to read it better or i will have low score in step 1 too in neuro
so remain for me 80 page from hy iam thinking to read it in kaplan iam lost too

Default Neuroanatomy

i have not given step 1 yet.

but acc to me even kaplan is too much u cannot learn everything from it .so what i did read and understand everything from kaplan.
learn well from first aid everything very well.and see images from high yield neuro (coz they r very good).

if you dont understand something from first aid refer kaplan back and annotate.
and ofcourse practice from uworld and annotate first aid from uworld .

this plan is good for doing more than good.

but if your aim is 260+ learn th crap out of (kaplan or HY neuro) + first aid + uworld

As per your Question .mastering of FA would be enough .but as u said u r weak in NA ,so u have read well kaplan so that u can understand whats given in first aid.

then annotate from uworld into your FA .finally master the first aid + anotated notes and u r done .Gluck

Default As for me...

I feel like HY did worked better for me... then I review FA (there is not much there) but I really think that HY NA covers all very well (This is me). I did read Kaplan neuroanatomy and did the videos too... so I make the comparison from that point of view.

I believe that things work different for everyone of us... I'm not planing on using Kaplna in my second and third reading, I'll focus 100% in HY. Plus, I think that the 50 questions of HY are very good and more difficult, you might add the review at the end of the Kaplan videos if you want (I found them quite interesting, but just that).

only read FA for your weak areas (200-300pp out of it) & dont read the mnemonic (but the charts, tables, diagram) & 50pp a night. Review it first thing in the morning. Cont for a week. Since you have been reading and doing Qs, I would be surprised if you didn't understand FA.

Default 3 days...

Thank you
First reading took me 3 +/- days, I read it slow and I was checking FA while reading it (I did not used 8 or 10 hrs day to read it, because I still have other things to do). After reading it all I did the 50 questions too, that is what helped me the most. That was a good review for me... For things that I did not understood well I used google (few times, not much). My opinion is that if you already bought it... go for it. You will not be missing something that was mentioned in Kaplan, and if you have the videos, just watch the review part of neuroanatomy (at the end), I think that you will be safe with it.

I still want to read it again, that book is not a big book so I think that a second time will take me less time.

The new edition of HY-NA includes a platform near to UW (but not that good), with 50 questions to review the book. It has neuroanatomy clinical oriented questions (hard ones), and it has an explanation for the wrong and the correct answers. You can chose how you want to do them: all in once or just a few at a time, they will always be random in order. You can practice as much as you want.

The questions are pretty much like in UW, with history and all that...
