Default USMLE First Aid Q&A: good idea along w/ First Aid/Kaplan lecture notes?

Hello all. I'm 25, IMG from China, and am preparing for my USMLE Step 1 right now. I'm 1 year post graduation, will be taking Kaplan Liveprep from Sept - Dec, and hoping to take my exam sometimes Feb 2016.

I've been preparing by reading through the Kaplan lecture notes and following along with the Kaplan step 1 video lectures as my 1st read, and as I finish a particular subject (e.g GI physiology), I read through the First Aid book and try to annotate as needed.

My question is, is it a good idea to get the First Aid Q&A book as well, and add that as the 3rd thing I do for each subject? For example, after finishing biochem lecture notes, I'll go through First Aid and annotate, and then go through the Biochem section of the Q&A book, and THEN move on to the next subject in the Kaplan lecture notes.

The only thing I'm afraid of is doing questions at this level may lower my confidence, but maybe it would be a good idea? The only real questions I plan to do (until UWorld after Kaplan), are those of the Kaplan Qbank that is included in the liveprep package.

Thank you!
