USMLE Books FA, Kaplan notes, BRS physio, BRS Biochemistry, and Goljan

is it possible that if some one reads/understands/memorizes FA, Kaplan notes, BRS physio, BRS biochem, Goljan, that they will get max questions on uworld or kaplan q bank, and then the actual exam??

Default hi

hi i am not the best person to reply coz i didnt read many of the kaplan books and my results are not out yet.
what i can say is that studying the books you mentioned and actually understanding what you have read will help, but personally i think uworld will help you very much.
i dont know what the 'maximum' score is however, you may look for post by a forum member called bebix, she scored 275 on step 1 and thats the highest i have heard of.

OK, thanks for the reply, so is it that Uworld/kaplsn qbanks teach you something that is not covered in those books, meaning like some new concepts, or something that those books don't mention. essentially what I want to know is that should one stop doing the books and move on to the qbanks because doing the books may be like a never ending cycle of revision and regurgitation of the material in the books?

well the Qbanks are a way to learn how the subject mattrr and your understanding of the matter could be posed in a Question which is the ultimate goal. to TEST your understanding!!

i'd start by reviewing 50%of the time and doing Q's on the topics learned that day with the other 50%. once u feel comfortable with your knowledge base you ought to start doing more Q's and learn from the explanations!

hope this helps.
