Medicolegal and Ethics Asking for palliative care to die

elderly patient with progressive parkinson has pneumonia. Refusing antibiotics and is asking for palliative care only to help him die. Patient has early morning awakening, insomnia and weight loss, anhedonia. What should you do?

a. psychiatric eval
b. seek opinion of family

explain your answer

i have another doubt...in considering family for health care decisions when patient is not competant...order of next of kin is spouse then adult children then parents then grandparents.right?

so does spouse and unmarried partner has same level of right for health care decisions?

Yes read today in uworld next of kin is spouse then adult child then i don know
