I used several of the Pre-Test question books. A few observations:
- The questions are NOTHING like those on the test
- The books are outdated

I liked them though, but only because I had the time to sit down and go through a few of them. I would NOT recommend them if you're short on time. However, if you do have time, then I would definitely recommend them as a source of questions while you're studying specific systems/subjects, before you dive into UW/Kaplan Qbank random timed. Like I said, the questions aren't very test-like, but they aren't terrible especially to test yourself on material you have just studied.

More specifically:
I used the Pre-Test physio for cardio, renal, pulm and 1-2 other systems, I went through the first few chapters of pre-test patho and I also did a few chapters from the pharm book.

Do you think the pretest questions are easy? ( yes, I know they are straight forward and not very clinically oriented ) I saw a lot of graphs and question about details of the graph but not a lot of up down questions...

It was a long time ago and don't remember well, but I think they were on both extremes - usually too easy, but sometimes ridiculously hard. Don't remember many up/down questions but the quality and type of the questions really depends on the topic...

They may be useful because although they use some of the older testing methodology/concepts that the exam has probably moved away from I still think it's nice to get the "older" perspective of things (see WebPath for example) just to be prepared for anything

If I learn Goljan and UW Pathology really well, do I still need to practice with WebPath? It looks like Robbin basic pathology to me...

Probably not, I just liked the questions because they're short and to the point, and they tested some concepts that I hadn't seen in a long time, eg Monckeberg's arteriosclerosis, but these may be in UW (they were practically missing from Kaplan's Qbank which was what I used)

Goljan is incredibly complete and detailed, it's just way too dense for most people and is actually way too much for most intents and purposes (although I love the book, I didn't use it much)
