Thanks everyone!
i was so tensed about my results.
I used Kaplan for everything except Goljan for systems and BRS for Behavioral sciences.
My UWSA-2 before UW- 390 (it was just a pass)
Then started UW Qbank- % was 64%
After UW ,i took NBME 6- got 205
I also did some kaplan Qbank.(physio,BS,pharma)
UWSA 1- 224 (1month before the exam)
NBME 7-214 (3weeks before the exam)
I was so scared ,then worked on the weak areas..
I did NBME 11 and 12 offline and got around 25-30 Qs wrong
Exam day-28th dec
EXAM IS ALL ABOUT CONCEPTS..
First 3blocks were easy.and then blocks got harder & harder..and more lengthy Qs..but overall it was fair.I felt good after the exam..but after few days ..got tensed because of some silly mistakes
Real deal--235/84..Thanks to Almighty...
I AM REALLY THANKFUL TO THIS FORUM ..THIS FORUM IS AWESOME & U GUYS ARE GREAT..IT HELPED ME THROUGHOUT MY PREP.

Good Luck guys!!you can do great..All the best.

Congratulations!
Great score!

So you finished with UW as 64% and went for exam?
I am around the same percentage and get a bit worried, even rescheduled because of it...

The Q in the real exam were lengthy just like NBME 11 & 12..Most of the concepts are covered by the UW,But i found that alot of Qs are from KAplan & were not in the UW,so to be on the safe side, also go thru the KLN,or Kaplan videos.FOr molecular techniques i watched McGrawHill website in the last days & found it very useful.Behavioral science Qs were as usual confusing..always stuck between 2 options..but my score in NBME 7 in BS was very low so i read COnrad fischer 100 cases quickly in 1 day ..& my performance in the real exam is way better.Just know all the KLN,UW & NBME concepts..by doing that you will be able to get the tough ones also right ..if you dont know them by exclusion..
In the last days..stick with UW & FA.But dont use FA as ur only resource..because ny exam was not from FA.
All the best.

I have used kaplan mainly my concepts are good but when i open first aid i forget most of stuff n feel tense because first aid is not conceptual my uw score is 70 percentage ! If u have studied first aid? Then plz tell me it helped u? My plan is to revise all kaplan notes with videos n uworld in these 39 days ! Thanx alot

I can understand ,I had the same problem with FA..I didnt like ot,but pushed myself to use it as a review,as i added most of the points from UW in it.
I did FA with the help of DIT.Your UW % is good. But some crappy details that are present in FA should not be overlooked..its a good review book.I suggest you if you can revise the UW thoroughly that would be helpful.
If you feel that You can do KLN+videos +UW in these days..then you can do it..but i think it would be exhausted..
ALL DEPENDS ON WHETHER YOU WANT TO USE FA OR NOT.I HAVE READ ABOUT PEOPLE ON THIS FORUM,JUST USING THE KLN, & SCORING HIGH 99.

All the best..Just stick to your plan,You will do great.

I think only UW & FA is not enough for this exam..But as everyone is different..I am an average student,so i used KLN for concepts building. If u feel you basic concepts are strong then you can skip KLN..But in my case KLN +Kaplan videos were extremely helpful.

ACtually i think Goljan is an overkill. All the Qs in the exam can be covered from UW+kaplan+FA.Also listen to the Goljan audios.Good luck.

It depends..Some people get 64% in Uw,but end up getting good score in the exam..it all depends how much you have learned..
Take UW as a learning tool, not for assessment..take online NBME to assess your performance..If you are getting good score in NBMEs,go for the exam.
Good luck.

Yeah Biostats was not too hard, simple Qs..UW + Kaplan videos are enough.
I would say Kaplan videos are really helpful.

Hey Congrats on the score!

My exam is in 2 days,I am getting really scared about sitting for 8 long hours. Is it tiring doing so many questions in that time?

Thanks alot!!
I was also tensed about that before my exam..But the day before my exam..i kept saying to myself that "you have done your effort, and now u have to stay calm on the exam day, because anxiety & tiredness will ruin your efforts"

It really helped me.

And REGARDING 8HOURS SITTING IN THE EXAM,I TOOK BREAK AFTER EVERY BLOCK,& KEPT MYSELF RELAXED,SO I FELT THAT I AM DOING SOME NBME OR UWORLD"..& IT WORKED REALLY.

ALL THE BEST FOR YOUR EXAM..I AM SURE YOU WILL DO GREAT..

It depends on person to person..but i think 6-7 months are enough, the more you delay ,the more you need to revise..
And my advice is that, start Qs as soon as possible..It really helps to grab the concept & if you do some Qs after reading a topic, you wont forget it.
All the best.

thank u so much.. really appreciated
I have some more questions if u do not mind...

does Goljan RR 600 pages make a big difference?
do u think 2 months is enough 4 on line UW or it's better if I'll go for 3 months?
wat do u think abt online kaplane banks and USMLERx?
What did you wish you HAD done for your Step 1 Prep ?

All the best.

All the best.
I dont know because I didnt do the whole goljan.I just did some systems from it.I took notes from the system and added in my KLN pathology book,so that i dont need to open it again.I kept my study plan simple.
But most of the people do it,because it is helpful for step 1,2 & 3.
For step 1 ..UW+FA+KLN+goljan audios..are enough for pathology
Goljan has some Notes for general and special pathology which is designed for step 1.It depends whether you have enough time or not for GOLJAN RAPID REVIEW.
UW can be done in a better way in 2months.I subscribed it for 1month & then extended it for 2weeks.I didnt do anything except UW in this period & took notes from UW into FA.
I can't give you a better suggestion about ONLINE Kaplan ..because i did it offline.I didnt do UsmleRx.
For Step 1 ,i wish i could do the Kaplan videos again.
All the best.

But most of the people do it,because it is helpful for step 1,2 & 3.

Actually i did it in OCt ,because i heard that the real exam Qs are nowadays similar to Kaplan..I found it useful.I did physiology,Neuro, pharma,Ana,micro and BS.It is hard but i think the real exam Qs are somewhat between Kaplan Qbank Qs & NBME. If you dont have time just do the BS,neuro & physio Qs.It is also helpful to revise the KLN.If you are doing your first read then definitely do it.
THE MORE Qs YOU DO,THE MORE CONFIDENT YOU WILL FEEL.You will easy to think in 2,3 step Qs if you do more Qs.Start doing Qs as soon as possible..I would say along with the first read.

If your exam is in mid feb than you have a little amount of time..then i would suggest you to stick to UW+FA+NBME+free 150 Qs.
All the best.
