Unhappy Passed with very low score

Guys I am in great pain now. Yesterday I got my score it's only 206.

I was shocked, never expect this score.

my UWSA score was 228 n 236 in 1 and 2 uwsa before ten and five days.

I was confident about my preparation and I don't know what went wrong in my exam.

plz suggest me can any one get residency with such low score?

should I give up or go for step 2 CK?

what are the chances in future?

Please help me

Keep going on , Don't give up...

First ~> ur score is not such a bad one
2nd ~> u can compensate it with step 2 and 3
3rd ~> Do ur best to strengthen other stuffs of ur C.V (LOR , USCE , ..)

One of my friends was matched IM with step1=76 and step2=94
at UT( uni of texas)....
Never Give up it was just a little step in 1000 steps in ur life...
the most important thing is that u achieve what u want!

but anyone can start today and make a new ending."

Warm Wishes

Keep going on and on. You already did a good job since you have gone through the long process preparing you step 1 and in my opinion, you score is not as bad as you thought.

I just start my preparation for step 1 and want to take it in Auguest.

Good luck to you and never give up, man.

Do or die but never cray. move move, move!

I feel like IMG's just panic way too much.

Don't let these forums fool you, not everyone gets a 240 on the step. Sure you want to be "better" then the AMG's etc... but come on, I feel like people go crazy over step on this forums way too much. All the IMG's from my school in the older grading scale had low-high 80's and none of them had troubles matching into the normal fields. If your going for those crazy competitive specialties then that's another story.

I know a lotttt of people in the medical field and I know a lot of people who matched with low scores and a lottt of people who matched even after failing the first time and not doing so well the second.

In fact I know someone who passed with a 79 on her THIRD TRY!! (don't know the 3-digit) and she got a lot of interviews and even one in categorical surgery. How? hard work during rotations and a 242 on step 2. Visit valuemd to see her posts they are there somewhere.

Always aim high and do the best you can do, but don't let an average score bring you down, let it motivate you to bust your ass and do all the other things you can do to make yourself more competitive for a spot in a residency.

Keep faith, work hard, destroy step 2, prepare for it ahead of time and prepare for it hard... wish you all the best and goodluck!

i`ve heard from people that scholarships are not so easy to get and need things more than scores.however,i`ve not done a through research on it,so i can not swear by heart.i skimmed dozens of health departments last year but contacted nobody. if you know a univ for this,i`ll appreciate if you let me know.

U have to pass TOEFL and GRE , and then according to ur score u can apply
for MPH...
As far as i know it takes 3-5 yrs ;
u know , If i were u i try to find and catch some postdoc position( research or clinical experience , ...) i think its more helpful than mph for ur C.V

There is no gain without pain...
