Default i REALLY feel like i FAILED step 1

Took Step 1 last week after months of prep. My last few NBME scores ranged from 210-240 so I thought I could do it.

Actual exam experience:

-Questions were much harder than NBME ones! I wasn't confident on most. Few simple questions.
-I was short on time for most of the exam. 10-15 overall where I put C because I wasn't going to have time for them :/

I am so scared I failed now and I can't help but feel depressed. Waiting for my score is killing me. Trying to just focus on Step 2.

How did you guys feel after your exam vs. how you ended up scoring? Anyone feel the same way I am now?

I thought i would reply here too in detail. I had an issue with timing and ended up scanning through the questions towards the end of each block. I marked c a few times but other times I was able to read fast and try to come up with an answer that made sense for the time I had. Overall I did this for almost every block towards the end.
Feeling really scared. If you were getting 240s on your nbme you will do great even with those 10-12 guesses. My highest nbme was a 220, realluy doubt I passed.
Good luck to you

How did you prepare for the exam and how long did it take you? I took my first nbme last week and did really bad and I have been preparing for months..(FA, uworld, Pathoma).

I know waiting for the exam can be nerve wrecking, hope you guys do well! Good luck

Default Post step 1 experience - Aug 4th 2015

Hi Guys,

I just did my step 1 yesterday. I walked out of the exam not really feeling confident. I can already count about 10-12 silly mistakes that I made by either rushing through the question and not reading it properly.

How many questions out of (308) do you need to pass - estimate?? I know that with the new changes to STEP1 format, will the experimental questions (10%) and bell curve still exist?

Please reply if you have any input, really would help me out while I wait the next couple of weeks!

Thank you!

I was literally crapping in my pants when I came out of the Exam center , adding insult to the injury my score has been delayed.

I am so depressed at the moment.

I have a question for you guys (or gals?),

When you did question banks and NBME - how much time did you have left per block on average?

Hi Guys,

I usually had a few mins to spare for NBMEs and UWORLD i had about 4-5 mins. Do you know anything about the curve or experimental questions applied after the number was reduced to 308 questions??

Is our score curved based on everyone that wrote the same day? ex. I wrote my yesterday, so everyone that wrote on Aug 15th??
