Psyche Effects of Sleep Deprivation

An investigator is studying the effects of sleep deprivation in healthy volunteers. For 6 nights in a row, a volunteer is allowed no more than 4 hours of sleep a night. At the end of the week, laboratory studies are most likely to show which of the following?

A. Decreased cortisol levels
B. Decreased dopamine levels

Ans ... C decreased lymphocyte level due to elevated cortisol ...

if for more than 48 hours you get less than 6-8 hours of sleep following are the changes

DECREASED---
GH
WBC
Cortical activation



INCREASED-
CORTISOL
Blood Pressure
-'ve mood


its the same changes as being legally drunk!
