Biochemistry Memory Loss with increased Protoporphyrin!

A 35-year old man comes to the hospital because of headaches, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.His sister says that he developed memory loss 2 days ago. Laboratory studies show increased blood levels of protoporphyrin. Which of the following additional findings is most likely in this patient?

A. Basophilic stippling of erythrocytes
B. Bronze colored skin
C. Dark-colored urine
D. Increased iron-binding capacity
E. Kayser-Fleischer rings

could be either LEAD POISONING.. or PORPHYRIAS..
but since protoporphyrin is increased.. and the history is acute

will go with lead poisoning..
so answer is A- BASOPHILIC STIPPLING


Pg 354 FA-2011 ... first condition in the table given..
