Immunology Adjuvants and vaccine elicit IgM or G?

According to kaplan, capsular vaccine with an adjuvant only elicits IgM response, but logically and according to a wikipedia article, it should elicit IgG too cos adjuvants are made up of bacterial RNA. so which is correct?

adjuvents are added to make the responce into an IgG..
without adjuvants the responce is only IgM

thats what kaplan says.

eg-- Strep Pneumo, H. infl, Niss. mening.... hence these are all added to the Diphteria protein and given

Ig M without adjuvants in kids.. as the T cells cannot recognize non proteins.. (capsule is Poly saccharides) and so class switching will not occur.. as TH2 cells will not be stimulated

hence u add adjuvant so that T cell can recognize it.. and Ig G is produced

I already did both Kaplan and UWorld and I think you either read the question the wrong way or something cause i remember that question and on both qbanks they say what both mbbs and the other fella have already told you, you add a protein to stimulate class switching.

saint is right,i have just done this question,,
you need to look what are you giving as adjuvant,,in KAPLAN notes adjuvants mentioned are
aluminium K SO4
muramyl dipeptide
lipopolysaccharide
polyribonucleotide

so none of these is protein,,so my answer is IgM
actually my explanation, bcz i got it wrong as well . .

Default saint is right

Adjuvants are given to enhance the response, they are not given for class switching.
moreover, polysacharide capsule with some protien component is needed to.cause t cell proliferation and class switching.

But i disagree with kaplan because adjuvants can be made up of anything including bacterial dna/rna and when these are added, it initiates class switching!
