Neuro Two Spinothalamic Tracts!

what is the difference between ventral and lateral spinothalammic tract and in general in exam when they refer to spinothalamic tract which one they mean??

spinothalamic tract == ANTERO-LATERAL PATHWAY

ie.. it is the combination of both

one carried pain...

the other carried temperature...
but for step 1 purpose... they are considered together as one tract
