Help Mid Prep; Don't know what to do next?

Hey guys!!!
This is my first post in this forum, and I wanna thank every one here for you efforts.
Well!!! I'm preparing for my step 1 exam, and just finished first reading. and utilized the first 10 days of DIT.
In my first read i did kaplan with video except for BRS pathology, and HY microbiology and HY neuranatomy.
my eligibility period starts on may 1st, but now i'm a bit confused because i don't know what to do next, i feel like start doing UW along with FA and to be selective in reading the topics i find my self weak in during my UW solving!!
but my study group members keep telling me to read the books a second read then starting UW and FA.

So i need an advice
and thank you in advance!!

Hi!

I get you... After my first reading, I was also very eager to start usmleworld. A second read was just too boring after the first read.

I am with you in starting a qbank after your first read. Because I believe by this time, we need exposure to usmle-type of questions and we need to know what is the emphasis (or important details) in step 1. A qbank will help us with this.

I'd like to point out that it's a good thing that you don't have time constraints. That's something to be happy about...

Are you only planning to do usmleworld qbank?

A better option... A compromise between you and your buddies:
(Your friends also have a point. They want you to do a second read of KLN before going to usmleworld bec usmleworld is a tough qbank. Its use is maximized if you go through it over-prepared.)

I recommend you do kaplan qbank while going through your second read. This is the time you do your revisions. After this, go into usmleworld. You don't have a time factor to worry about anyway. Also, you won't find usmleworld as hard.

But if you really want to start with usmleworld after your first read. Don't worry about it. Do what works for you. It's different for every person.

I was stubborn too and I worked on usmleworld after my first read.

Thank you d_wiqed for your fast response!!
Actually I was convinced to do a second read, but I really want to be ready for the exam as soon as possible so i can evaluate my self using NBME, and if my scores were good i'd do the exam, but if not to have time to postponed the exam. and another reason why i want to finish earlier is that i have a graduation exam in September so i need some time to study for it !! the point is my friends decided to postponed their graduation so they can go and get electives in USA, but since i did some electives i need to finish the graduation exam and be free to do the step 2 CK and CS. So in other words I do have some time constraints.
but i'd like to know if doing UW,other qbanks with first aid and selective reading from this point enough for good result in Step 1, or it is mandatory to do a second read with the things mentioned above for a good result!!

Hahaha... The fast response was more bec I don't have a date this valentines! (I'm stuck with uworld and am bored at home...)

Ahhh... you do have time constraints! Then, I suggest you go straight for uworld!

If you're asking whether you need a complete 2nd sweep of KLN or you can just do selective reading and still get stellar results, no one can really say.

But a good gauge will be your uworld performance. Do uworld and you will know for yourself what's the best next step for you. Whether it's just FA + other qbank, selective reading or second read of KLN. At least, that's my take.
