Help Struggling with genetics and molecular biology

I'm on my first read and finished metabolism with no problems in 2-3 days with videos...However, i'm really struggling with chapter 7: Techniques of Genetic Analysis and the last chapter of Genetics: Gene Mapping. Is this normal? Our medical school did not emphasize at all these two topics so maybe that's why but still...After cruising through metabolism and most of transcription, translation, hardy weinburg, translocation, I'm really struggling to grasp the concepts behind these 2 chapters.

Any advice? I heard questions don't come from these topics but still I don't want to take any risks...I tried watching the videos again but even then I'm left blank

Just be calm and cool...not all these techniques are necessary for the steps (as u will find out while doing qbank)..kaplan is exhaustive in its KLN and videos of Turco are excellent to say the least but the fact is that he too stress on high yield u can get an idea he is doing and leaving..its sort of tough when u do those things like paternity qs(as the diagram qs in kaplan),linkage qs with diagram(in KLN)..but u can rest assured just try to get a hang of the thing and move on..listen to videos once again the part u cannot understand once more but dont pull ur hair over them all the time..when as u do uworld u will see after all those subjects(8 subjects) taken together these qs r far too spoaradic and in between and easier to do if u have got the basic understanding right and need not delve into too details while solving these qs...gud luck..hope it helps
