Question What to do after UW

I have done 2 reads of Kaplan

Did Kaplan qbank earlier and finished with 56...

Than started DIT and finished it along with one read of FA

Just finished UW with overall timed random - 68%

What to do now?

Do the an online NBME (7, 11 or 12) and see the score you get and compare it to what you want to get on the actual exam and you can decide from there what you might want to do next...

Just took NBME 7

Guys, what is the correlation of the NBME 7 to the real thing?
I felt like it was biased test a bit...

They say it's the most predictive, fair, sort of straight FA questions.
This was based on this forum's poll... But the exam is changing so we won't really know 100%...

In what way do you feel it's biased?

I felt like there were few biostatistics and almost none genetics.

Most of it was really straight forward, seemed like an easy test. (maybe because I took a couple days of and relaxed before taking it) But I took UWSA1 before and it was way more difficult than NBME7 (maybe because it had more genetics)

I'm just curious... Did you find out the answer to your thread?

What comes after 2 reads of KLN, UW, kaplan qbank, and DIT??

Are you now going for an exam? Or you still have other ideas?

I have finished Kaplan on Sunday and then I had to go for business trip for work on monday, so I had some time of, did some questions, but thats it. Did NBME today, scorring pretty low, but enough to pass.
I am going to ace FA (i did one read of it in october ) and then take another NBME and will go for exam I think.

I am aiming high, but passing will be fine too...

The real exam is very similar to the NBMEs. There will not be many biostats or genetics questions. From people that I have talked to on average there are 2-3 biostat questions on every exam. I have only talked to one person who said they had 4. Genetics is also the same. There isn't much on the exam, on average 2-3. Most of the exam is Patho, Pysio, Pharma. I used to hear when I was in med school it was about 75% of the exam but now that I'm going through the process and talking to people they tell me Patho, Physio, Pharm is 90% of the exam. A friend of mine took the exam last year and she ONLY studied patho, physio and pharm. She said she will guess on all the other subjects. She scored a 97 in the old scoring system.

UW is a lot harder than the real exam because it is a studying tool. They make their questions harder on purpose so you can be well prepared. You have to realize that as IMGs we make such a big deal about this exam, but it is mainly geared towards 2nd year medical students (US and Canada). They are testing basic principles BUT in not so basic ways. This is where IMGs get stuck. They are not used to being tested in such a manner that throws you off but the answer turns out to be so simple.

You've done all the QBanks, done NBMEs....then just go give the exam. You're as ready as can be....you will do great, because you've got that experience of dealing with the types of questions they give...which brings it back full circle to you finding the NBME easy now.

2haga
thanx
I still have some little time to improve.
Just read the "Trickster's exam experience" and he says there are like 4-5 biostat. questions in each block.

Exam is getting harder, I do have a bunch of AMG friends and they told me that exam is getting harder and not even everybody from their class have passed the exam...
