I kind of marked 15 questions Per block ...my nbmes were 220 to 235 ...in the main exam I found all the blocks except the last one hard ... Done a lot of elimination and guessing ....I was not at all confident even in the questions which I did not mark ...

Default expecting step 1 results next wednesday october 7th

Took my exam on tuesday, september 15th. Hope to get the result next wednesday. Although I did good in NBMEs, I felt the real exam was a lot difficult. I marked around 20 per block. I did answer many questions just for common sense but I wasn't 100% sure. Hope someone had the same experience!!
Does anyone know what is the correlation between the feelings and the real performance in the exam day? I heard that even if one did well in NBMEs there is still a change of failing the exam.
Any suggestion? any words of encouragement?
Thanks in advance =)

Do you know how we get our results? Email or we just go on Oasis?

Just logged into Iwa and my permit disappeared :0
there is no scheduling permit for me on IWA
for the past week it was there but when you click on it, it said that the candidate has already sat for the exam

We learned a lot by this preparation ...at least me ... I did not know most of the things until I prepared for step 1 ... And I am happy ... My only regret was had I could sleep the previous night of exam ...I would have certainly done better ....

Exactly , for me I definitely benifited a lot by preparing for step 1. No matter how the scores go I have definitely learned a lot and it is helping me during medical school even during the clinical years. When you know basic science the clinical knowledge becomes much more easier.
All we can do now is hope for the best

I finished uworld 3 months before exam ...but appeared late for exam late due to health issues ... Sources I used were Kaplan , pathoma , goljan , uworld .... For anatomy nothing is going to be OK ...just stick to one book and focus more on MRIs and nerve injuries ....

Default took exam on 23 september

hi i took exam on 23rd september : it was way tooo difficult i have marked 18 questions in every block and it was extra hard :
my NBME score 4 : 245
UWSA : 244
NBME7 : 223

i found exam 50 times more difficults than NBME 7 for step 2ck

m very tense i was feeling completely defeated after exam and i m worried i made 8 silly mistakes in a hurry coz question stems were very long

and i marked 18 questions in every block

anyways hoping for good

but guys let me tell you one thing the mean will be lower this time .. exam totally changed i didnt find it like uworld ,., it was more like kap Qbank or even more tough

my Qbank scores were random 71%

but i feeel like i have failed the real exam when i was taking it coz it was extra difficult

m expecting my result on next wednesday as my friends got scores in 3 weeks now for step 2ck

For me the exam was tough but doable. Some questions need an extra step of thought even the anatomy questions. I got some ultrasound picture and it was asking for a specific structure(can't remember it now). So there are some questions that you just have to accept no matter how much u study you can't know them.
Hopefully when we get our scores we can reflect more on how it went

The exam blocks were happening so fast i dont even remember .. I didnt feel sleepy or tired during the exam just a little hypoglycemic in last 3 blocks.. Also for half the blocks i had 1 min left to recheck my marked ones but for the other half i was just in time to finish the last ques and think so quickly... Idk what happened it was NOT easy but definitely doable

Yeah exactly exam was hard but doable ... Most questions require some or other thinking ... Very few memory bases questions and a few wtf questions which might b experimental and dont count ...the only thing i advice is questions might b different than any of the nbme or qbanks but most concepts are same ....just be strong is concepts ....u can not learn everything for usmle ....so learn whatever with perfection ..... And here problem comes ....time ....since question framing is new ...it takes more time to answer ....just try to b fast and active through the exam ....tag line is ..... DIG DEEP than WIDE .... Depth is concept and width is total material u got to prepare ....

Its really good. Anything above 230 in step 1 with above 240 in step 2 you will match somewhere.

Congrats mk09. That's a good score for IM. Try to break 250 in step 2 CK & you'll be absolutely fine with the scores issue.
Please do share your experience. Good luck!

My experience is nothing special
I just did kaplan with videos and for patho i did goljan almsot twice
Uworld first time was 67-68% i don't remember and second time was 75%
Nbme 15: 25 days before exam was 224

What was your target score? Its natural to be anxious if one doesn't meet the target score. So it's ok.
But I will talk stats here. Are you aware of the NRMP data? Mean score of matched IMGs in IM was 230. You are still 6 points above the mean. That's statistically "good". People who are posting on forums are not a true representation of all the applicants.
That being said, obviously you must go ahead and work even harder for CK. Don't take the exam until you get close to your target score in NBMEs. And I suggest your target in CK should be 250+. It's definitely doable. A lot of people score atleast 10-15 points higher on CK than step 1. Also, the final result of matching depends on many other factors as well, your YOG, USCE, GC, research, LORs, contacts, how your IVs go and above all "Luck"!
I have seen many people around me who have gone through this process of Usmle/matching, and trust me or not, if I have seen one deciding factor that beats every other factor in making or breaking the game, that's "Luck" good or bad!
So at this point keep your hopes high and keep going!
We do not belong to the generation that keeps quiting as an option!

And thanks for sharing your experience. Good luck!

Good luck!
Thankyou sanusmle for such motivating words. I hope you do excellent and yes il work harder for ck..

My goal was >240. But believe it or not i got a 202 in nbme 13 (online) in june and then in july i got 225 in both nbme 11 and 12 (offline) so my score was stuck on 225. Then again i got a 224 in nbme 15 (online) I gave uwsa1 2 weeks before and got 242 so it definitely overpredicted for me.
All the best.

Find out who is authorised by ECFMG is your college representative. In my case it was my ENT professor. So that person will verify your status on EMSWP.
