Default no worries

No worries, it's good! You passed, that's all that matters. How did you study and how long?

Thankyou so much guys.@dman1234 I studied for 8 months, read all kaplan lec. notes along with video lecs for all the subjects except for pathology which I did from Goljan and read FA 3 times along with uworld mcqs.@suka I just started my step 2 ck prep. I wanted to apply for residency this year in Family medicine and i have 6 months in this case.What is your advice should I start observership to get LOR along with my prep or wait until i finish with both ck and cs? Or should i wait until next year to apply after making my cv better with more LOR and research or something?

Default how?

@blueangle

Did you take any form of mock exam like UW, Kaplan, NBME...? How did you score on these exams?

Reg your Step 2 prep...

If you are going for 2013 Match then it better to finish your CS first.. Since the exam pattern is changing in June...

Next... You can do obervership & Prep for CK at the same time... Both are important

Hope this help...

I guess u can do what wsams said... I personally didn't take Step 2 yet... I am studying for Step 1... then will start clinicals when I finish my step.. So Iam not too sure abt which you should go with first... Whichever you do... Just concentrate.. If you are plannin doing CK first then study well and do really well.. Because now Ur step 2 will matter alot... And then when the time comes.. Get good LOR...
Good luck!!

well i dont think you should apply for 2013 match , theres no logic in it ..

you have to complete all step with results by september , and need to do USCE for covering up your score and to make a good CV with LORS ...

and CS results takes 2 to 3 months to come ....... you are short of time and rushing and scoring less on step 2 will be harmful ... please dont take it in a negative way , there is never a end to anything in USMLE , but i have read post in this forum itself about people not making it with a score of 217 .... so dont be discouraged but be wiser , learn from this mistake , you know your next score has to be be high plus USCE for atleast 3-4 months is minimum needed , if you go ahead and apply for match this time and dont make it , your application next time is seen as a candidate who didnt match last year , instead take your time , verification of credentials take a lot of time to , these things wont happen fast .... dont take any decisions in haste , give nbme before your next step ...

goodluck ........

Thank you so much for advice I appreciate it. I did Nbme forms in the following order 11, 7, 12 each 2 weeks apart and my scores were 182, 172, and 182 respectively and since my scores were not improving so I appeared in the exam.
