Thumbs Down i suck at da usmle

I'm halfway through my 2nd read of kaplan and I'm also doing first aid side by side as well as related questions from kaplan qbank. It seemed like a good plan before i started it. But i barely get any questions right! Plus i cant remember da stuff which I've read from da previous subjects either. Its like I've got early onset alzheimer's or something. I'm extremely discouraged. Is there anything Im doing wrong? Pls help!

No, its all fine.

I think studying for step 1 is like achieving the steady state with a drug

It takes 4-5 half lives to achieve it.
So you make 2-3 reads of the material you use and then at some point you hit the bar...

But if you take long vacation, or miss the "dose"(of studying), the clearence will wash your knowledge out.

You'll get there. good luck.

I am at the end of my 3rd read and even I dont remember stuff. Its a hard exam. But its not impossible. Dont take any Qbank as a prognostic indicator. Take it as a learning tool. The more you make mistakes, the more you learn from your mistakes and the better you become. And better becomes your power of Question solving. Good luck !

Love the wordings here, makes so much sense! My blessing and curse is time. I have it and I don't. So my reading goes kinda slow as I am still in school (clinical rotations which takes up time) and work, on the other hand... it gives me time as I do not need it tomorrow!

However - as you state it so nicely... needs to keep the drug in the system or clearance takes it!
