Virus HIV patient with labial vesicles!

A 30 year old, HIV+ woman with a CD4 200/mm3 comes to the physician because of a vaginal discharge and itching. In examination, the physician reveals multiple clear vesicles on the external labia, and fluid obtained from one of the vesicles shows several multinucleated giants cells and intranuclear eosinophinolia amorphus bodies by clear halos. Which of the following drugs is most appropriate for this patient?

A- Acyclovir
B- Amp B + flucytosine
C- Fluconazole
D- Nelfinavir
E- Ganciclovir
F- Metronidazole
G- Penicillin G
H- Foscarnet

Acyclovir because its for HSV seen in HIV

Not Ganciclovir because even though its for HSV seen in HIV it will cause bone marrow suppression which will worsen the individual with HIV.

Default It is A, for me

Pt primary infection as indicated from above: itchy and vaginal discharge; next stated from Goljan lesions on the labia, vulva, cervix: erosive cervicitis with discharge; it is herpesvirus, type 2 (HSV 2) sexually transmitted. Rx: acyclovir decreases the frequency of recurrences but there is NO cure!

hey guys,

how do you differentiate between the different bugs that cause vaginosis or lesions of the female external genitalia?
i'm really confused on this.
every question looks the same to me but they are always different bugs
like here, i had no idea it was HSV "-_-
