Question 2 questions from USMLERx

1st, the answer is schizotypal personality disorder, but since the symptoms has been lasting for more than 6months, and the patient has negative symptom+Hallucination, can't Schizophrenia be the answer?

2nd, I don't understand why the answer is E. According to kaplan, health power of attorney beats all other decision rules, but it's also stated that "in end of life curcumstances, if power of attorney person directly contradicts the living will, follow the living will." So shouldn't C be the answer?

I tried asking these 2 questions directly to USMLERx, but no one replied.... Hope someone can help. These are so confusing.

First one is obviously schizotypal. Age of onset is right for personality disorder and there are no hallucinations or delusions. For exam purposes, if anything about bad omens and magical thinking is mentioned in the absence of hallucinations, its most likely schizotypal disorder.

The second one, since the living will was made before his cancer diagnosis, power of attorney was given during this visit and its mentioned that 'as per the patient's wishes', the answer is E.

2)Durable power of attorney surpasses living will.

so E is the answer without a shadow of doubt.
