Default new for USMLE

hi i am new for usmle.i got a pretty good idea on which books to follow.i am done with my mbbs and i am an IMG.i wanted to know as to when to apply for ecfmg thing i mean i have heard our med school will be getting it done for us but shud it b done b4 writting step 1 or after that??plus does any have a good study plan?

Hi and welcome..!
Yes, you have to apply for ECFMG certification before you apply for any usmle exam, including step 1. But you are eligible for certification only after you pass step 1,ck and cs.

As for study plans, i believe each one has their own style and methods. If you want to get an idea, you could browse through, they are many found in the recommended threads forum.

thanq so much for the advice..i have heard that in US IMG who have passed with five years of thr med school are preffered over those who took more than 5 yrs..like i am done with my med school..when i was in my internship i thought of preparing for my mle..but had no clue as to how to go about it.now thanks to internet i know quite a bit.i completed my internship this yr in feb.i am thinking of givivng my steps in august or sep.depending on my prep..plus i thought i shud also apply for externship once i am done with my step 1 and then go about for step 2..can someone plz help i mean is it true??

Hi!!!can anyone please let me know how much does 99 score show on a three digit scale??i plan to take my exam in aug or sep..anyone taking exam during that time please let us help each other..
