It's better to do an nbme online to really assess if you're ready -- an nbme whose questions you haven't seen before. This is because each question has a different weight on the scoring system, thus, online nbmes give a unique score that you can't get on an offline one. Not to mention that offline nbme answer keys are not 100% reliable. Good luck!

Go with the expanded one so you can pinpoint which areas you need to work on after.

I calculated it by dividing the total number of questions from the step 1 exam with the total number of questions in the form which means
336/200=1.6.Some people say that you multiply it by 1.4?but I cannot understand why?1.4 *200 means =280.
Thanks

I think 1.38 is a better number. Multiply your correct responses x1.38.

And moreover 46x7=322. How did you get 336??

sincerely we are wasting precious time in this algorith..NBME s have a different oulook to scoring and they give (surely) different weightage to different qs..plus u can also get wrong answers from the offline mode( stunned to see in NBME 2 the answer said psammoma body found in medullary ca of thyriod...seriously..wtf)...so just do them online if u want to predict score..but one thing thats beyond my comprehension is that..why these reputed centres like kaplan ,uworld etc are not coming up with answer keys of nbme??it would have been life made easier for pour souls like me..at least can get to know how many qs i got right
