USMLE Scores NBME versus UWSA2 Overprediction!

Got 430 on Nbme11 and 570 on the UWSA2

Doing UWSA feels like doing same UW questions, I had like 30 minutes of extra time in each block, but doing NBME left me with like 5-10 minutes of free time only and the questions were tricky...
I feel like I am too comfortable with UW questions format. My complete UW qbank score is 69% and I got about exactly the same on the assessement.
But NBME is totally different format...

What do you think guys? What is the real test like? More like NBME or UWSA?

I dunno, it felt like questions were short and easy, with all of these buzzwords - I did not even cared much about reading the stem thoroughly, never changed the first answer and was very relaxed.

When it comes to NBME, it is usually very stressful to me and I hesitate alot between 2 answers...

can it be overpredicting by 30 points?

But well, I guess the test day is very stressful, so I am left with 430 anyway...

Uwsa does NOT use UW questions. It is a seperate bank of questions that have been made to mimick the usmle according to usmleworld.com
Hence why uwsa questions seem easier (although written similarily) to uworld qbank questions.

Nbme is written the same style as usmle step1.

Nbmes are the best predictors, not uwsa.

Good job...well as people have mentioned in this thread it over predicts by 10-20 points but even by those standards you have a really good score...im planning on giving uswa also in a couple of days, if for nothing else just to see more questions and maybe build some confidence.

Thanks bud!
I really needed that.

In the worst case scenario, I hope that it couldn't overestimate by 46 points...

NBME is a tricky bad a@#.

One more thing I wanted to clearify - according to the NBME table that you get at the end of the test - 430 is 205. But to other sources like to the famous pdf sheet "nbme score data" 430 is 201.
What to believe?

ur uwsa score is great..i think u freaked out a bit too much while doing NBME bcoz of the reputation of NBME in score prediction etc etc thats why u found it tricky..i saw nbme 11(offline) and i personally think its a bit easier than uworld qbank qs..i think that psychological fear just got better of u(i can happen to anybody...me too)..just relx..do another nbme with the same relxed mood u did UWSA and i am sure u will do better than the previous NBME..good luck with ur exam

I did NBME 7 one month ago and got 210 , one week later I did uwsa 1 and got 220 ,and I knew before doing the test that I have not improved in that week , which means yes it overpredicts by 10 , but not 30
and as AVAsh said I think it is fear

i personally feel it too..plus theres something which always srikes me...in most instances as i see posts..even after one month of studying most people can just increase their score in NBME by 5-10 points..or sometimes it stays the same..it just defies any logic when u study day in and out for one month and remain same in terms of score!!!and really the algorithm they use..i really wish someone just get a hand on it....gud luck @flowerlady..

Fear is the mind killer

Thats for sure.
Though I feel that there is a major difference in NBME and UW type of questions. Could it be more same looking answer choices, could it be less buzzwords or clues, maybe it is really just an internal freak out, but I personaly think that NBME questions are harder than UW, at least for me

Did UWSA 1 today -

this one was hard. I'd say 2 fold harder than UWSA 2!
A lot of genetics, immuno and repro... stuff that I do not really like

Anyway, got 226(530)

As I see what people say - UWSA 2 overpredicts by 10-20 points, but UWSA 1 is fairly accurate or even underpredicts a little bit.

What do you guys think?

I know this post is old, but how did UWSA 1 relate to your actual step 1 score? I just took it and got a 228
