Default Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

Hey, can anyone explain how decrease in left ventricular diastolic pressure augments the obstruction in HOCM. I read that it gets better when there is and increase in venous return as happens during passive leg raise or sitting while it worsens while standing up. Since it's an outflow obstruction, shouldnt it get worse where there is increase in venous return and vice versa??
