Help USMLE Consult Scorrelator & Kaplan Diagnostic/ Course Simulation Exams

Hi everyone,

I just finished the Scorrelator Test (3 blocks) on Usmle Consult. I got 58%.
The scorrelator from Usmle Consult predicted that I am close to 215-220 at the moment. Please tell me how accurate this is?

I also took the Kalpan 7 hour simulation exam (7 blocks) and the Diagnostic exam (3 blocks). I got 50% & 55% respectively.

How do they correlate to the Step 1 and what is the accuracy ?

I am giving myself 2 more months of study time and plan on doing Kaplan Q Bank in this time. Your advice is appreciated!

Thanks

Hey

How did you figure out that my score correlates to 223? And which score are you talking about - consult, diagnostic or course simulation ?

And for the next 2 months I am planning on reviewing my Kaplan lecture notes, go over FA and do Kaplan Qbank. Also I'll take an NBME in between and at the end of the 2 months to see where I'm at.

@Hope2Pass

I have no direct experience w/ usmleconsult yet but here are the feedbacks of those who used the usmleconsult scorrelator and already took the exam. They say it overestimates by 10 points. How accurate that estimation is, I can't really say. At best, it's just anecdotal.

LOL! I just checked -- it is old. Sometimes it can be bit hard getting feedback on usmleconsult or usmle scorrelator. I do hope someone can answer your question.

I'm finishing uworld. We basically have the same plan of Kaplan notes + Kaplan qbank + FA for the next few weeks.

Let's keep each other posted. We can talk or update each other through pm or this thread (the one that you made )
For Step takers in April-May-June Period.

I think I may have questions on how to go about the next few weeks. I might need your opinion on the matter. Anyway, I'll just pm you or something.

i'll be starting USMLE Consult in about a weeks time
I'll probably dedicate some time to do that scorrelator test, sounds interesting.

I've taken the kaplan diagnostic a few times over my studies.
once right out of med school, a good 8,9 months ago, and i scored 30%.
then after 14 weeks of kaplan (6 months ago) and i scored like 57% or something.
then i did it for fun a few weeks ago and scored like 67%.

however the 67% was around the same time i took an nbme and scored 190, and i also took UWSA1 and scored 201.
so i guess 67% on diagnostic correlates to 190?

it really sucks that kaplan doesn't correlate to a 3digit with its examinations.
thats the one thing that is making me think twice about taking that 7hr kaplan test.

Hey, Thanks for your message and yeah it sucks that Kaplan doesn't correlate the scores for their tests. You would think KAPLAN out of all others (like Consult) would do that since they are probably the most used source out of all lol. Anyways, I don't think I am gonna go with the USMLE Consult Scorrelator because I think its an over exaggeration .. may be a good confidence booster but that's it! The best correlators are NBME and Cumulative Qbank/UW Averages.

Meh, I do not think scorrelator can correlate with anything...

There are 2 types of questions:
- simple recall or diagnosing the questions
- weird questions not described in Kaplan and FA.

I got 67% correct which "scorrelates" to 234 in a 3-digit...
This is the same as my UWSA 2

False hope
