Kaplan Medical Is it just me?? :( (Kaplan Qbank Micro)

Hello, I studied micro from First aid and read it few months ago from CMMRS, I was good in solving random questions on the net and First aid Q&A.

Now I'm doing Kaplan Qbank micro, and I sucked very bad =\
they keep asking about the resistance acquiring methods and very specific virulence factors and very rare infections that are not mentioned in First aid

any idea guys??

P.s i found the biochemistry and behavioral parts way better and study material related questions =\
but the micro :SSS

omggggg u r so right!!! i felt like either banging my head against a wall or tearing out my hair when i came across so many micro questions that i could not answer!!!!!

it was just too frustrating!!!

but i've heard tht kaplan qbank is sorta harder than the real exam in the sense tht the real exam does ask questions based on rote learning...tht's the silver lining i guess (but a vedry small one!)

DrBooda, seems like some folks jsut spam random facts and links to other sites with answers

As for Kaplan Micro, it really tests memorization, don't let it bring u down
the majority of kaplan micro is not what u expect, keep truckin u'll see what i mean

I would suggest using Kaplan Micro to help you remember and uworld micro to really test urself

I'm not sure if I'm following it right... I'm sorry to break in... Why not leave kaplan qbank micro for a while and read KLN micro first? Then, test and consolidate knowledge with micro kaplan qbank. Since you're planning to read KLN micro anyway... Just a question...

my question now
Is kaplan micro book worth reading??
Will it add useful things to what I need for the real exam?? Or it will just make me ready for kaplan exams??

micro is my weakest subject
but i made good progress after reading rediculously simply microbiology.
id suggest that book over kaplan or FA.

Oh, ok! CMMRS is good to make you remember stuff in micro and the important ones too. On the other hand, Kaplan hits the high-yields in micro, however, it's in outline form so it can be boring.

KLN doesn't help you in memorizing but it does give you a complete overview of micro. If you just need a more complete coverage of micro, kaplan is good. If it's just a brush up you need, you can finish the book in 3 days.

Of course, KLN micro is good for the real exam. Browse through the book even just the pdf ones so you can see if you still need it.
