Arrow Earthquake during my Step 1 Exam!

Hi guys,
I gave my Step 1 on 5th of March. I'm hoping for a good result. During my 4th section, there came an Earthquake!!! (5.2 on Ritcher's scale)
About 2-3 questions were direct from NBME 12. I was so engrossed in the exam, that I don't know whether my exam was good or bad.. I mean, I'm soooo neutral!
Just worried, as I got a low score before the exam on NBME (420/203). Moreover, I'm an IMG.
Alisha

@d_wiqed: ...or bomb threat and evacuation during the 6th block...

@Alisha: congratsss on the good job. So how did the earthquake affect your test? Did they give you extra time or something?

Do you have many Biochem questions, DNA/RNA/lab tech/signal transduction...?
Is the style of Qs different from UW?
Are there weird facts/ concepts that you have never heard of? (Since the introduction of NBME13, many ppl have assumed there are many more new Qs in the test, is it any true?

@d_wiped: I mean, I was like hell when the earthquake came. With so much of difficulty had I completed my 4 blocks and... to add to it, I was sitting in a building made of glass!
@uworld: Hmm. not really..
@patho: Nah! No extra time.. The earthquake was for 7-8 seconds.. The coward supervisor ran away! :P My last murmur based question couldn't be completed due to lack of time.
Questions are not similar to uworld. Many of them I knew, and there are many questions which you've never before seen at all! And poor me, I didn't know about NBME 13!!! Anyway, 13 is unlucky..

i gave nbme13 yesterday and let me tell you: you didn't miss much....it actually confirms what most people say:
lots of molecular biology
straight forward pharmacology
and lots of: WTF does that even mean????

maybe earthquake is now one of those 'we delete 30 random questions', as soon as someone klicks on one of those the special effects start *muahaha* to simulate the actual stress you have as a physician...

LOL!! The supervisor ran away?!

Even with the earthquake, sitting in a building made of glass, and everyone running... you stayed put and finished the exam!

That's what I call commitment! Don't you get extra points for bravery?

YEP! Seriously. The earthquake is now one of the changes in the usmle exam.

Haven't you guys read the official announcement in the usmle website?

Here's an outline:

October 2011 --> old 99 = now 80

March 2012 --> (+) earthquake in 4th block

How was the exam overall? Which subject area was more? Was it easier than uworld?
Tell us all about ur exam experience please...

I wish so!

And the earthquake wasn't simulated, it was actual! Also felt by my family when they were roaming about in a mall n I was sitting there in the exam hall.

@suka: The supervisor can not adjust the timer on the computer.. If he could, then you know, people would've bribed them.
Also, I'm in a hurry now.. I'll soon tell you about the exam experience.

Many funny things happened during the exam, like the supervisor running, and another thing. There was a lady (prometric staff member) who asked me if I had something to eat! I mean, she didn't have food. I told her to get to my locker and have some of my fruits, as I wasn't feeling much hungry.. To my utter astonishment, she actually did it!!!

Neither earthquake and hungry prometric people nor UFO landing and zombie-Pokemon attack couldn't stop him...

Congratulations with your accomplishment!

Her!
And BTW, thanks..

@suka: Well, about the questions, they were like, I don't know. I mean, when you're sitting there for 8 hours giving the exam, your head is like bursting when it completes. You don't even come to know what kind of difficulty level was the paper. I actually can't say anything about difficulty. Yeah, NBME type. 2-3 questions exact from NBME 12. Some questions are like, you just read, mark, go on. But some are difficult, you'll feel that you've never ever seen those questions before or any of that type.
It is a joke NOW! It wasn't then.. My heart was pounding.!! I mean, imagine, you're in a glass building, you've completed 4 blocks with great difficulty, and an earthquake comes! How would you feel? To add to it, your computer is shaking!!! It didn't decrease the stress, rather increased it!
But yeah, the lady eating ma' food, was fun.. I almost burst laughing at her..

Awww! I m sure the earthquake made your heart pound it sure would have made mine as well. But js the part the proctor running, lady taking the food.. Those sounded funny. Lol! I would have laughed just like you did. Hehe!
Mmm.. So the exam had both easy and hard questions... Any specific subject areas you felt like you should have studied more or was hard?
