Default Step1 exam cancellation

I have already applied for step1 and the extended eligibility period is ending in January 2016. But am not ready for the exam yet. Haven't booked a date at prometric. Am planning to reapply later. will this be considered an extra attempt? Is the amount refundable? please guide me .. am in a lot of confusions.. any help is highly appreciated.. thank you

As far as I know, if you don't take the exam it won't be an attempt. You can extend your eligibility period for the NEXT three months for a fee, but the original fee you paid is not refundable.
