I'd say to figure what is your weakest area based on your NBME 7 result.

Go through them in First Aid.

Continue to do any questions that you get your hands on. But, in addition to questions...at least spend each day reading your FA cover to cover till you need tape to tape it up because it is so beated up by your flipping so much through it.

When you can flip to any random page in FA...and able to pick up that topic and start naming 5 things about that topic or can explain it to people. You're good to go! =)

Dont take 11, 12, 13 yet..If I am not wrong you have more than 1 and half month to take USMLE. Just go through FA/Kaplan/Whatever is your primary book and then take 11, 12 and 13 as they are much tougher than NBME 7 !

When do you recommend she take the next nbmes? After 1 week? 2 weeks? Isn't she doing good already with a 220 in nbme 7? I'm just curious... I'm asking just in case I find myself in the same situation in the upcoming months...

Default NBME 7 , section1 question number 4

I posted all the answers on this link:

http://www.usmle-forums.com/usmle-st...7-answers.html

4.
E. Primordial germ cell migration:

the tumor shows a haphazard arrangement of somatic tissues representing derivatives of ecto...,meso.. and endoderm.....it is a characteristic of germ cells.

Teratoma is derivative of primitive streak which involves process of germ cell migration.

- For number 4...This is a case of Sacrococcygeal teratoma..)....
- Sacrococcygeal teratoma is one of the extragonadal germ cell tumors ...
- These tumors can be found anywhere on the midline, particularly the
retroperitoneum, the anterior mediastinum, the sacrococcyx, and the pineal gland. Other
less common sites include the orbit, suprasellar area, palate, thyroid, submandibular region,
anterior abdominal wall, stomach, liver, vagina, and prostate. The classic theory suggests
that germ cell tumors (GCTs) in these areas are derived from local transformation of
primordial germ cells misplaced during embryogenesis...which means defect in primordial
germ cell migration

She is in 220s..Probably she will get the same score in the online NBME, if she attempts another online NBME now. I suggest that she finish her primary book first and then Re-evaluate her position after 12-15 days. Her score will definitely go up then. Another very Important thing she can do right now is to download offline NBME probably 1,2,3,4,5,6 and attempt those. Learn from these minor NBMEs and her score will Definitely go up by at least 10-15 points.

NBME are very accurate in predicting your scores. Plus it is a motivating factor if you score good. Otherwise, you end up all depressed like me!

Check out the Link I posted in the end...

NBME 1,3 are usually considered tougher than 2,4. In my opinion. And I think 5 and 6 are different than 1,2,3 and 4. Take the offlines in the same order. Start from 1! Good luck!! Remember me in your prayers!
