Arrow NBME 13 Discussion Desk

Sorry guys all those questions were from NBME 13 I collected them from other forums. As you all know that all questions are copyrighted so they are going to be deleted. So sorry. But we can keep this page as a discussion desk for NBME 13.

Please dont post Questions. Only ask a principle which they tested you on.

Man... this is so unfair and so wrong. You have to post this as NBME Q so we can choose if we want to see it or not... Your are destroying the evaluation utility of this test for the people that is planing on doing this self-assessment test. This is so unfair....

I was planing on doing this NBME... this is so unfair.

We can create an open Facebook page then everyone can comment on the status (you can add picture or w/e onto it)...It's almost the same as those Kaplan Facebook page or Rx Facebook page...etc, what do you think?

I think facebook will also report it to the US government
And to the above comment
These are not the exact same wording of questions and the answers are still not confirmed so if u take nbme 13 u will still NOT see the same exact questions

This question is also from NBME http://www.usmle-forums.com/usmle-st...-question.html by http://www.usmle-forums.com/members/usmle_taker.html

i have reported this also

Guys most of us dont even know these are NBMEs only coz we found them on other forums or somewhere in facebook or any other platforms. If we share them here for discussion, the main intention is to understand the mechanisms or concept they are asking in the question
and not to ruin anyone else's NBME when they take. So if u me or anyone gets to know its NBME we should point it out to the person who posted so that they can tell us if that is NBME or they themselves dont know the source.

Many people who posted above have also shared NBME questions in past but i know that those werent in their knowledge that they are NBME question until admin or any member pointed that out. so Rather than criticing and making this discusssion useless lets take it to the right direction where its intended to be THE NBME 13 DISCUSSION DESK and not
NBME BLAMING DESK lol just to cheer u guys
BTW thanks everyone for ur comments
Keep posting and stay like a family
and families quarrel so no hard feelings heehee

It's all good in the hood. What's done is done. I will still mark what I initially thought the answer was, so maybe it won't make that much of a difference anyways. Don't feel bad man. I still disagree with some choices regardless of what u or anyone else said haha

the weird thing is I feel NBME Qs that I accidentally ran into are very similar to Kaplan Qs and not at all to UW Qs...

I am still wondering if this is true:
- tumor and its antigen: cervical cancer and HPV E protein? How would such an antigen presenting cells escape from destruction by CD8 T cell? Should the answr is B cell lymphoma and CD19, because these B cells are somehow mature and have CD19...

Any suggestions, plz?

cervical cancer – HPV 16 E6 protein.
- The E6 protein of cancer-associated human papillomavirus type 16 binds to p53 and promotes its degradation through the ubiquitin–proteasome pathway.
-
A mutant E6 gene that failed to reduce p53 could not delay cell death.
-
Recall that P53 is a tumor suppressor gene. So when a tumor suppressor gene is out of wack. So the bodies start making antibodies.

Thanks, USMLE16, you are such a big help!

Can you explain to me why B cell lymphoma and CD19 is not a good match for tumor & antigen expression. What does the question per se mean ? It just keeps me thinking about fluorescent cytometry, am I even close?

Well...with this particular question...When I finished reading it...I think that the answer has to be either 1. tumor suppressor gene or 2. oncogenes

1. tumor suppressor gene
-- Loss of function causing cancer; both alleles must be lost for expression of disease.

2. oncogenes
-- Gain of function causing cancer. Need damage to only 1 allele.

so I narrow my answer to either b. breast cancer - her2/neuc. or c. cervical cancer - HPV 16 E6 protein

b. breast cancer - her2/neuc is a oncogenes
c. cervical cancer - HPV 16 E6 protein is a tumor suppressor gene

the answer has to be something "produce the highest Ab titer"...

So, how does our body or anything makes antibodies? when there is a problem that we need to fight against right? so...then it has to be something that we loss of function leading to cause cancer...to make antibodies against something....so that's why i choose a tumor suppressor gene ... c. cervical cancer - HPV 16 E6 protein is a tumor suppressor gene
