Medicolegal and Ethics Is it ethical to give a placebo?

As we know that placebo can have positive effect in clinical trial. Therefore, it is ethical to use it in the trials. However, in the real world, is it ethical to give a patient a placebo as a treatment if you as a physician think it might help?

Thanks.

It's never ethical or legal to use a Placebo !! (and when it comes to step 1, its definitely not the correct choice).
