Question Would DIT make up the deficit in FA!

Alright,
I have decided to start with FA along with DIT because no matter how much I look at KLN I feel like I still don't know anything. What I wanted to ask was ... does DIT(+uworld) make up for the missing information in FA?? I am soo confused about how to study now. have finished KLN twice, did UW .. about half of it offline. my exam is in 2 months (which I will end up postponing I guess)
Guys please advise, esp those who have used DIT. I can't study FA only its too boring and cramming stuff so i thought may be DIT would help

Yes, I strongly believe DIT make up for the missing information in FA provided you use it with DIT workbook which is very important.

when are you starting DIT?
im starting april 1st, and doing 15 days straight
i think @sukar is doing likewise
would be cool if we had a small group of people on here who are doing the same so we could start a thread discussing it.

Hey guys, I might start DIT in April as well! Not sure if I'll be able to start on April 1st but I'm just finishing up going through some pathology and physiology and then I will be hitting up DIT!

Aaaaaaawwww... I'd love to do DIT with you guys this April!!
But I have scheduled mine on May. I don't think I'm ready to start it yet... *SIGH!!*

Are your DITs a mid-prep thing? Or is this the final stage of your prep?

Are you guys planning to do it twice?

I'm finishing uw (LOL! I've been saying this since God knows when!!), then, I'm planning to run through FA, consolidate uw notes & go over kaplan notes quickly. When everything is done, that's when I'm starting DIT.

Maybe I'll think about if it's better if I do it mid-prep or right after uworld...

yeah, mine is definetely mid prep. i got bored of the same routine i.e. KLN read followed by FA read. and i cudnt take FA seriously that way. So i thought DIT might help. yeah i might do it again towards the end of my prep if it works for me

Also, I am planning on writing my exam in June as well! What's your study plan like? I am focusing on Kaplan, FA and Qbanks mostly. Lets discuss in the other thread and start DIT in April as well!

i turn to Kaplan here and there for some subjects (mainly biochem and immuno) and some systems (physio renal, physio endocrine, physio repro).

right now im doing system a day in FA (and kaplan if necessary) + pathoma for that system + 46Q in USMLE Consult per day.

But by the end of the month I'll be done turning back to Kaplan as it's either in my head or annotated in my FA by now.

So, April onwards is DIT + FA + UW and I may try goljan audio if i feel i need it.

Wow, great plan dude. It looks solid! FA + Pathoma is good. I was thinking of getting it as well. Sorry but I'm gonna throw several questions at you lol If you can answer those for me that'd be great.

How much did pathoma cost?
Do they ship you the books etc?
How long does the shipping take?
How long does it take to go over Pathoma - all videos + text book ?
Have you done it more than once or this is your first time?
Do you have a time limit on how long you have to watch the videos ?
Is it better than Kaplan & FA ?
In the end, did it help you A LOT or improve your score on qbank etc by A LOT? like do you understand pathology much better now?

If you need advice on goljan audio I can help you out with it as I've listened to the first 7-8 lectures and have a good idea of how they are! You can ask me questions on it lol

Also, have you done Qbank before? Because QBank and UW are the two major qbanks one should do!

100$ + shipping (shipping was $30 for me! but thats prolly cuz im in canada)
yep, they ship the book and it took about 5 days for me, but im sure it will be sooner if youre in the states
it took my 7 days to go throw the videos, reading the book alongside. thats 2-3 chapters a day
i went through it once in an 'all-pathoma' week, but now im watching the videos for whatever system im studying that day in FA.
i had dr.sattar himself for kaplan so my kaplan path book is full of amazing notes he gave us, so for me, pathoma was an extension of kaplan. but for everyone else, pathoma is much better than kaplan and FA when it comes to such a tricky subject as pathology.
i took an nbme in dec and scored 172, with pathology being my 3rd weakest subject. did pathoma and then i took another in feb and scored 190, with pathology my 4th highest subject.
i went from memorizing patholy to learning and understanding it.
dr.sattars motto should be 'sometimes its easier to learn more', because he teaches the normal first, and then based on that he derives the pathology with you so you have a full understanding of the pathology.
i absolutely love pathoma.

im currently at a 200 level
hopefully will be at 205-210 after taking nbme form 6 on march 31st.
how about you?

i did kaplan qbank early in my prep, about 65% of it, struggled with it hard and didnt take much away from it. i use it every once in a while now and have been doing better. mainly use it for subject-by-subject or system-by-system assessments.

i have UW and have completed 80%, saving the remaining 20% for while I do DIT because the dude says you go up 5% every week in ur qbanks when doing DIT so lets see.

For the past 3 days, and until the 31st, i am doing USMLE Consult Qbank. 46Q a day, just to keep the juices flowing and hopefully be able to track some progress.

yepyep.

Hey Numbndumb! have you started DIT yet? I'm planning on starting today since ive grown tired of watching all the Kaplan vids(biochem ones r GOLD though!) + everytime i decide to study FA i postpone it cuz it looks too complex lol!

let me know if u have started or not, and if you want we could do it together and make sure we're both not lazy and get the job done in 15days!

For every1 else, BEST OF LUCKKKK, i hope EVERYONE here aces the exam!!!
