Unhappy Just took my exam yesterday... I hate this state of purgatory

This isn't supposed to be a post to scare people... but a venting post. I just took the test and i just feel like there were so many that I didn't know straight up and were my best guess... which I realize is how it goes sometimes... but it felt like more than not they were guesses... I'm so freaking out right now. I'm trying not to think about it. Im looking back at the test and made so many stupid mistakes... I already know like 10 questions that I got wrong due to plain stupidity. I did get a 207 on NBME 7 like a week before the exam... BTW, i'm only trying to pass.

I got sooo fatigued during the test it felt like my brain shut down like halfway through... And I never had extra time to look over my answers...

Now I go on rotation.... I'm gonna be freaking out for the next 3 weeks.... sweet >.> I want to call the nbme and just force them to tell me my score so i can know. ^_^ Anyway, hopefully others are in my state of purgatory and maybe we can try to make each other smile I hate this part, the waiting, it's driving me insane.

You'll be ok.don't be too hard on yourself. How did you prepare for the exam? I've 5 weeks to go before my exam and still feel like I'm learning new stuff when I do Qbanks.

stressing wont change your mark
your answers are submitted and the marking scheme will remain the same regardless of your anxiety or prayers.

you've done your best now move on.
life is beautiful, dont waste it away in worry.

dont worry about the feeling that you currently having, its ALL NORMAL.

most of the people after the exam have a mixed reaction. donot worry about it,
at the moment dont think about the exam.

am sure you must have done well.. our prayers are with you.

if you dont mind could you please elabortate about the exam??

1- DID YOU FIND UW help you answer the questions with ease? If you did so, can you please give us an example on how did it help you answer the Q.
I mean where u able to answer the Question because u learnt the concept from uw????

2-how many times did you go thru uw. did you write notes for every Q u did in uw?am asking this because i feel like i have been writting alot of notes from 1 Q itself and i feel its time consuming.

please do share your views on the above Q

thanks!

1. predominantly - I can't really pick one because a lot of questions had pieces of different subjects... but i would say def know micro (some were 1st order pics that gave away the answers), pharm (graphs and side effects), and patho... i know that's not too specific, but it would be misleading for me to tell you otherwise... There also was a good amount of biochem, but (and maybe it was just the luck of the draw) but most biochem questions were pretty straightforward, I would give specifics but i don't think I'm allowed... I remember there were posts before that scared the crap out of me with regards to molecular biology but the molec. bio I had was more critical thinking than from information you had to know. Also, behavioral was pretty heavily tested but they felt like gimme's to me... In hindsight I spent too much time on my personally more difficult subjects (I was studying neuro the night before, which is my worst subject, but i only had a few on that) I think it would've been better to spend time strengthening my already medium to strong subjects as it got closer to solidify them... but I can't be sure, my 2 cents. For cardio, which was also focused on quite a bit... the physio of cardio is important.

2. I'm not really sure how to answer that, what score are you going for? To pass, I would say definitely yes (this is assuming you know it cold and you get bonus points for qbanking with FA). To get 240+ or whatever some people on here are going for, I would say not so much. I mean it's possible.

A little related sidenote:

The problem that crystallized during the test, and I hope that people keep this in mind during the exam... As much as it sucks, there are going to be questions that you will be completely blown away by. MAKE SURE YOU EXPECT TO HAVE QUESTIONS WHERE YOU WILL HAVE NO CLUE WHAT THEY ARE GETTING AT and try not to let it eat at your confidence. This is very hard during the test because you want to at least have a fighting chance at every question, but try to keep in mind how many questions there are and how some may be experimental. Make your best guess.. DO NOT DWELL ON IT, and move on!

I read through FA many times (in addition to having 2 years of med school) and there was one question in particular that mentioned a part of the body I had never even heard of. I may not be great at anatomy, but I would know if I had at least heard of this part before. Anyway, the moral of this story is, be prepared to have WTF questions... I think no matter how much you study you will have at least a few.

I hafta go for now, but I will be answering more questions soon. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYONE'S SUPPORT! I LOVE YOU GUYS <3 Good luck to everyone.
