Default Mother with a 2 year old child

A mother of a 2 year old boy states that the child cries every night before bedtime. She desires information about how to overcome this problem. The most logical suggestion is which of the following ?

A) Discipline the boy with a spank prior to bedtime.
B) Discipline the boy with harsh verbal language prior to bedtime.
C) Undertake sleep rituals such as bedtime snack, bath and bedtime story.
D) Purchase a gift for the child each week.
E) Bring the child to a family therapist on a regular basis.

C. is the answer that makes sense, but I don't think a snack is the way to go. A snack before bed (probably after brushing teeth) is very bad for the kid's teeth!! I know that's not what the question is really about, but I think they should have left out the snack in the answer.
