A 32-year-old man is brought to the emergency department because of multiple nonlethal stab wounds. He is incarcerated and serving a life sentence for murder and armed robbery. After his condition is stabilized, he insists that it is his "right" to remain in the hospital until he is fully "cured." He threatens to harm the attending physician if she endorses his return to prison. Which of the following is the most likely diagnosis?

(A) Adjustment disorder with mixed features
(B) Antisocial personality disorder
(C) Bipolar disorder, manic
(D) Borderline personality disorder
(E) Narcissistic personality disorder
(F) Paranoid personality disorder
(G) Post-traumatic stress disorder
(H) Schizophrenia, paranoid type

A?? possible B if not A

To be honest I was stuck between A and B, but if I had to chose I would think A. He probably is acting out because he doesn't want to go back to jail not because of any psychological disorder. However if we look at the fact that he killed and robbed previously, it might be Antisocial behaviour. I am not sure which part of the question to focus on.

yes u're ryte its B. but y are u guys so sure its B? just because he killed and robbed? i kinda didnt pay attention to what he did before and i thought him acting out now was a sign of narcissistic behaviour!! so when we answer this question we immediately have to look for what he has done in the past?
