Bonding between parent and infant is generally defined as:

A. Provision of nutrition and sustenance in the first months of life

The correct answer is C.

The close emotional intimacy that develops between parents and their infant was termed bonding by Drs. Marshall H. Klaus and John H. Kennell who posited the presence of a biologically sensitive period at birth and immediately postpartum when mothers and newborns engage with one another. Research reveals that mothers and infants who bond immediately after birth developed a closer attachment than those who did not.
