Question Causes of Infant depression

All of the following are potential causes of infant depression except:

A. Continued absence of the mother
B. Formula feeding rather than breastfeeding
C. Physically and emotionally distant and insensitive parents
D. Problems in the parents' relationship impeding bonding

Not really related to the case, from my observation, formula-fed infants are chubbier and cuter! LOL!

I bet they get a lot of attention...

The correct answer is B.

Depressed infants are at risk of failing to thrive, which is potentially life threatening, so it is vitally important to support bonding and proper parenting. When parents are absent or are physically and/or emotionally distant, infants are at risk for depression. Research reveals that infants reared in orphanages and hospitals without sufficient attention were more likely to suffer poor health, severe developmental delays, and higher mortality despite adequate physical care.
