Default Hello!

After a looong sabbatical I am finally back. It's time to get started.
my plan is to take the exam on april or may of this year.
and my first review will start today.
I don't have the luxury to delay my exam since I am already a 2012 IMG graduate and that itself is a disadvantage on my part to delay further.
I might have been through a lot of mental and emotional stress for the past years. But I just could not garner any courage to start the review.
because of my fear of failing. it's something no one knows in my family. they just don't get why I can't schedule the exam. Actually I did apply twice for the test but didn't schedule my exam date. I even register in usmle rx q bank, world, kaplan which I didn't use because of fear of taking the qbank with not enough preparation. My fear of taking the test has eaten up a big part of my life. 3 years was wasted. and I just can't tell anyone why I'm struggling inside.
so this time I am going to face my fear and just deal with it pass or fail. I just want to get over with this. I know if this is meant for me I will make it. If not then so be it. And my journey starts today.

Honestly I have no clue how I will manage to do it in 2 months....
I will see if I can finish my review on time.
If not I might stretch it at most to 3 -4 months time.
Some people I know have managed to do it in 3 months so I'm hoping to do the same.

My plan is to do kaplan videos and lecture notes (except for patho I will do pathoma) 7 days for each subject. thus 49 days. the remaining weeks will be dedicated to DIT and FA.

If you are a fast learner read first aid at least 3X with the uworld questions if u are a slow learner read first aid at least 6x. Everything is there but understanding the concept is what matters!

Spend less time on videos and more time on questions

Begin with USMLE Rx question bank to learn First Aid

Then move on to Kaplan to hone your skills

As you approach the exam 30-60 day away, buy uWorld and complete that bank

6000 questions and you should pass

Doing Kaplan videos and DIT wont get you anywhere, trust me ive been there and done that.

The amount of material I have learned from answering questions is unreal.

Not just the material, you learn HOW to answer questions and WHAT the test writer is looking for

You learn the clues and what to look for and what to ignore in the stem.

Default hi here is my study timeline

I've attached a pdf file for my study schedule.
I will see if this is going to work for me.

I've started with biochem. I'm currently watching the lecture videos.
for Biochem I'm watching 2014 kaplan classroom lectures.
for the rest of the subjects, I will go through the 2010 lecture videos except for patho. I will do pathoma. and I'm thinking of skipping micro and ana videos and just go through the lecture notes for them.
May God bless us all with our journey to medical residency in the US.

Good luck! The uWorld question bank is a great resource to use when studying for the test.
