Question Which self-assessments (besides NBME) are accurate and reliable?

I did both UWorld self-assessments. How are Kaplan and USMLERx self-assessments? Are they worth spending money on? Also, are there any other self-assessments that are good (like UWorld)?

USMLERx self-assessments aren't really self-assessments. They're just 200-question sets taken randomly from their Qbank.

UWorld self-assessments are pretty accurate in the 200-240 range. If you have a high score, they tend to become unreliable.

Kaplan self-assessments are also generally believed to be fairly accurate, except for the Kaplan diagnostic. But the Kaplan full self-assessments are both 7 hours long.

Those are the only two that are accurate (aside from the NBMEs). And for what it's worth, neither is particularly precise.

I just went to Kaplan website. I guess you have to buy the Q-bank in order to access the full-length self-assessments.

yeah, you can only get those if you buy the qbank.

with qbank you -
1) Diagnostic exam - 3 blocks.
2) 2 7 hour simulated exams - 7 blocks each!!

That's just simply not true. Look at historical threads where people took a UWSA and then took the real test.

Maybe it overpredicts in some cases, but it also underpredicts in some cases.
