USMLEWorld How to copy USMLEWorld Pages!
I'm now doing USMLE World for Step 1.
I need to record all my assignments into jpeg.
But I can't do Print Screen.
Anybody help me how to do ? I hav to revise them in my PDA.
Need to take photos ?
So busy !

Unhappy You cannot
They have disabled any copy paste or Prnt Scrn functionality.

You have two options:
  1. Javescript software that can let you extract the pages. Which I know nothing about it but I heard it's possible.
  2. Printing out the page from your browsers print button and then scan those papers into Jpeg or whatever, but of course that's a very cumbersome task.

option 2 is impossible for uw.... its possible for urx only...

option 1... i dont know

i think taking photographs is da only option i can think of ...

what about the snipping tool with the Windows 7? ive been using that alot. can it be used for your UW forms?

It works on UW if you use Firefox browser not Internet Explorer

The new snipping tool in Windows 7 is exactly like the old Vista and Xp (Ctrl + Prnt Scrn) function. Which basically copies the screen. I don't have Windows 7 yet but I think it will not work

People use PMs so that they don't publicly show the "copyright" material. Who said this guy is having links, he's having actual materials and files and if he attach them to a post here it will be most likely removed because the staff of this forum are against sharing copyright materials.

yes, time is precious, especially while getting ready for the step. what I'm asking in exchange for the precious time I spent getting those 2000+ UW Q Bank questions together is really nothing. everybody will benefit from this, even if the file isn't available by link right away.

snagit is a very good tool. i've used it before and it's very easy. another way you can do is...install pdf printer driver and print those screens as pdf document.

but the best option would be a java based or any screen capture tool with scroll support...

Default let me tell you
I did something like that with kaptest. you can download this software called screenhunter from download.com. install and run it. everytime you want to save a page, just press f3, it will capture the screen and automatically save it to a folder. so copy pasting, no file saving, all is done automatically.

im doing uworld .

i tried to capture the questions using snipping tool.after few times of using it, usmle software detected snipping tool and a mail was sent to me regarding not to use it and the same mail was sent to usmle administrator.

so friends please be careful before using it and find out the safest techniques.

It looks like the folks at USMLE World have figured out the Snapshot trick of Windows 7. Now if you use it, the UW will crash and they'll even send you a threatening email!!

guys i printed both UW 2012 and kaplan 2012 via my PC, the trick is pretty simple, it took me 2 days to capture the whole UW and 2 days for kaplan

i just can't tell ya the trick coz, it will become mainstream and i didn't take my ck yet, coz if u know it then UW admins will figure a way around it and i get stuck lol

the best way to revise uw is to write down all that u need and make ur notes... u/ll remember them too...
also i came accross this guy, whose study partner was searched for and sued by kaplan and was charged 150,000 USD per copy distributed, all his online messages and convos were tapped and followed through.. just some food for thought....

but to be honest, copying by hand is absolute waste of time, and u tend to get bored as u progress. u even start not adding some important stuff and say ah ok i will remember it in my mind. why? coz UW adds new info to FA and even KLN, or sometimes present the info in a more understandable pleasant way, so u have to write it down, and suddenly u r between either to write everything down and waste ur time and subscription or scan it faster and hope u remember.. that's why printscreening is the best option to be both time efficient and info consolidating
