Listening Prioritizing DIT versus Kaplan High Yield

Hello everybody,

I just have a basic question. My exam is in 5 weeks and I should be finishing my first thorough pass of FA today. I'm hoping to do two more passes in the next 5 weeks... once with the help of DIT, and once with the help of the new Kaplan High-Yield program. My question is... which one should I do first? Here are the factors that I'm considering:

1. DIT recommends that you finish their program within 5-10 days of the test, and then go through First Aid one more time. So maybe I could use Kaplan HY to go through my weak points in First Aid in those 5-10 days.

2. Maybe I shouldn't wait too long after I finish the DIT course. If that's the case, I might benefit more from doing the Kaplan HY as prep for DIT, and then finish DIT 1-2 days before the test.

Any thoughts?

Default Kaplan Hy first, then DIT and NBME 13

According to DIT's advice, one should finish DIT 5 days prior to the real test and shouldn't do any more Qs but FA repetition during that time. Considering the fact that DIT and FA are for cramming up, I would first do Kaplan Qbank and annotate the testing points/pearls into FA with a red-ink pen. Then i will listen to DIT and annotate into FA with a blue-ink pen (if necessary). That way I am revising both FA and Kaplan Hy points. Doing a Qbank takes more time but does a better job to reinforce my memory, so I would do it b4 DIT.To see the effect of DIT on my performance, I will take NBME 13 in those 5 days left.
Plz take my opinon with a grain of salt, I haven't taken the test yet. Good luck!

Sorry, I wasn't clear - when I said "Kaplan High-Yield", I was referring to their new series of First Aid review-type videos. I've already finished about 60% of both Kaplan and UWorld Qbanks, and I'm planning to do the rest along with the DIT course (as recommended by DIT).

I was thinking that I might have trouble getting through all of FA in 5 days, so I was thinking I'd use the Kaplan HY as a substitute. But if it's not an adequate substitute, then maybe I should forget about it altogether. Or maybe I should do it before doing DIT, and leave myself with 2-3 days just to revise the highest-yield material.

I have no idea bout kaplan HY program but since I am doing DIT now which I am half way through, I can give my two cents.

I finished FA one read, & was doing 2nd read by myself...I felt lost while doing renal system( as understanding the concepts is important in renal system), I tried DIT renal video & I felt that Dr.Jenkins effortlessly walked me thru entire renal system in 2 videos....I was hooked.
So I started DIT from the begining....he gives all the HY information in short amount af time & doing the quizzes after each lecture are the best.....as I am doing them I only wish I can retain them until my exam which is in almost 2 months......so I would advise you to definetely do it just before the exam.
I am planning to do DIT again..esp the HY videos like ANS, NEURO,IMMUNO, MOLECULAR BIOLOGY, CVS, RENAL, RESP, ENDO & HEMAT-ONCO, & antimicrobials(quick review).
