Default Visual acuity interpretation

Hi, does anyone know how to interprete 20/40 OD and 20/200 OS? (stellen chart)
Apparently OD means right eye and OS means left eye, but I have no idea what the numbers mean.

use convertion tables
in Europe we use decimal usually

exactly, from Latin:
oculus dexter OD right eye
oculus sinister OS left eye
