Thumbs Down 10 days for Neuro,7 for Musculoskeletal, other stuff Help!

I need your help guys.

I haven't touched Neuro or Musculoskeletal yet, I am very bad at anatomy and always studied it enough just to pass. I am using Kaplan videos & lecture notes/First Aid for my preparations.

I want to ask those who finished/are studying Neuro, what's the best way to study it? I am willing to expand my sources for this particular subject. With what book/videos should I start? is dr.Najeeb helpful? are 10 days enough for Neuroanatomy, Neuropathology?

Same questions for Musculoskeletal. These chapters have lots of anatomy but I can't ignore them anymore.

Other stuff:
So far I finished Cardio, Endo, GIT, Hema, Renal, Repro, Psych, Resp. I am doing some RX whenever I can, I always get 70-75% after each block. It should go higher since most of the questions I get wrong are usually Micro/immuno/embryo/behav Science. (I haven't touched those yet ).

The question:

How hard is Kaplan Qbank compared to RX? I really think I should've got Kaplan QB, I am hardly taking notes from RX. Should I switch to Kaplan already?

Last Question: Anyone reading this is taking the exam in September/October this year? would be nice to discuss my progress with others who is taking the exam at the same period

First off your exam is in Sep so ou have pently off time. Why are you panicking that you will not get all done? Second why not UWorld? Are you saving that for the end? Kq bank I found to be easy and mainly reguratation of facts (this good if your weak in subject and want memorize in and out so you start to hit Uworld questions that test the same subject but with concept instead of straight forward fact questions). If you have time I would recommend you get Kq bank and if plan to stop with Kq bank then get uworld instead. I took the exam and I had hardly any anatomy questions. You about 5 months so focus on weak area you will be good.

Hi,

About the neuro, i think that the time span that you have is enough i recommend watching the kaplan videos and doing FA, if you have time go over goljan RR book, i think my best advice is watch the pharma and Neuroanatomy videos in VLC player at a speed of 1.3-1.7 (by pressing in the player on this buttons [ and ] this will speed it up or down), this will shorten your time span over them very much that is to say just fill your FA with things that are missing from the videos (and there are things to fill).

About musculoskeletal again watch the videos at high speed altough they are not the best, FA is very good aswell, and goljan for pathology.

I would say that you manage to do all this in 12-14 days for both which gives you 3 days of revision from your FA book that is full with your additions. during this period of time it will be good if you do Qbank questions and add any information that wasnt covered to your FA book. again 17 days for both subjects is more then enough. probably saying that you do a subject wise Qbank will give you better estimate of your advance but i think it's less useful then the random one.

Because I'll have to pause studying multiple times, for example I won't have time to study in May or July, and I am keeping June for Micro/Immuno/beha Science.

I want to hit the ground running when I start studying in my full time vacation which starts in August.

I didn't start with Uworld because It's time consuming and it would've made it hard to balance it with my university schedule.

Thanks for your advice. I'll try KQ first and see how it goes

I'll stick to kaplan videos I guess. I just heard so many good things about High-Yield Neuro and I am not sure if I should get it. I'll be following the replies and see how it goes. thanks a lot!

The Kaplan neuroanatomy videos are very good. I think they're about 9 hrs? What I did was I read neurophysiology from BRS first. There were quite a few things that I didn't understand. Then I watched the Kaplan videos while trying to follow the text. It was hard the first time around. I then watched the videos for a second time and read FA. Oh, I also watched the Pathoma lectures. I feel things have become very clear now. I just need to memorize them. Yeah, so the Kaplan videos are very good.
