Default Kaplan 2014 or 2016

Hi guys. I have a bit of a problem. I have Kaplan lecture notes 2014 for step 1, got a good deal for the used books. My plan was to read them and update my knowledge using FA and UWorld, afterall it's basic sciences right, how much could have possibly changed in 2 years. But a friend who just matched advised that it's safer to use the most recent books. So guys, is it really necessary? Cos I need the money saved up from the deal for Qbank subscriptions. What do you advise guys?

Really dude! 2010 lectures will do fine as long as you solve the latest online U-World and/or Kaplan QBank 2016!

Dont worry!
