A 45-year-old man with a history of generalized anxiety disorder and long-term substance abuse came to the clinic complaining of anxiety. The physician decided to prescribe a medication for his anxiety which is a partial agonist of 5-HT1A receptors. The physician also told to the patient that it takes up to 2 weeks for the therapeutic effect to begin. What is the most likely medication?

Good way to remember is that if you have Anxity treat with 5HT1 A agonists or partial agonists e.g buspirone

Note that before treatment initiation the patient should be put on BZ - as the drug takes around 2 weeks to start working.
